ABOUT US

OUR STORY

Legacy Events for Education is a 501c3 non-profit public charity. Our mission is to inspire and empower teens to become confident, purpose-driven adults. We believe it is important to encourage involvement and making a difference in our local communities.

Since our inception, Legacy has delivered over $120,000 in scholarships to local graduates. We fund these efforts though the production of community fundraising events like the Central Florida Chili Cookoff and Hamlin Craft Beer Festival, generous sponsorships from local businesses and individual donations from the local community.

Our programs include the Leave a Legacy and Teacher Nominated scholarships and our Legacy Academy. Our scholarship programs recognize students for exceptional community volunteerism both on and off campus, awarded to students who have performed hundreds of volunteer hours during high school. We have awarded over 140 scholarships since 2019 totaling over $120,000!

Our Legacy Academy includes classes teach life skills to teens like financial literacy, resume writing and interview skills. Our parent class guides parents through their teens transition from middle school to high school and out into the world! These classes are presented in partnership with local coaches, tutors and financial institutions and are presented to both parents and students. Over the last 3 years over 250 students and parents have experienced our Legacy Academy programs at no charge.

None of these programs would be possible without the hard work of our volunteers and our generous donors. Legacy firmly believes that it’s not what you take from the world, its what you leave behind!
